Teaching and performing piano are Sally and Rachel’s passions. Many Eppert Piano Studio students have won or placed at various local piano contests and won music scholarship over the years. Additionally, we have the notoriety of the most studio participants in the National Piano Guild Auditions that occurs each June! Several of our students have gone on to major in music at Indiana University, Eastman School of Music and University of Indianapolis.

Our premier music program involves the whole family in the joy of their children’s musical learning by inviting a parent to come into class the last 10 minutes for sharing time and help with the daily practice at home.

Additionally, Eppert Piano Studio has two annual studio recitals with all students participating. There are other performance opportunities as each student progresses. Learn more about our recitals.

Sally has a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from DePauw University and a Master of Music in Piano Pedagogy from Southern Methodist. She been teaching and performing since 1980 and currently maintains a full studio of group and private piano students, ranging from 6 to 76 years old. Many of her students have won contests and/or gone on to major in music.

From 2006 to 2021, Sally has headed up a committee from the local piano organizations to bring to Indianapolis nationally recognized piano pedagogues or national composers for a two-day workshop each year. The presenters have included Catherine Rollin, Robert Vandall, Dr. Paul Wirth, Melody Bober, Kevin Olson, Chris Goldson and Philip Keveren, along with others. These are excellent learning events that help rejuvenate local teachers.

Sally enjoys teaching all kinds of students and genres of music. She is active in the three local piano teacher groups and has served in various offices, including President in all three. She is also active in Indiana Music Teachers and Music Teachers National Assoc. She is the area coordinator for the National Piano Guild Auditions.
